Proyecto comunitario Cuenta conmigo in Bosque de La Habana
In September 2013 a small group of teachers, parents and young adults with Down Syndrome started a Project in Havana city, Cuba. This group is currently named Proyecto comunitario Cuenta Conmigo and has a clear objective: do not exclude these young adults full of motivation and skills from the Cuban social life.
We believe in inclusion and educational methods without prejudices, that is why I decided to join this group and collaborate with them in aspects such as international promotion, funding search and creating bonds and intercultural bridges between Cuba and Finland.
We have collaborated with cultural organizations and institutions in Cuba such as Museo de Arte Moderno, Casa de Cultura Mirta Aguirre, Teatro Guiñol in La Habana and in projects such as Reforestación del Cristo de La Habana with Global Ware group by plating trees in Bahía de la Habana.
